| Beret with lattice cable pattern worked in worsted weight yarn. Pattern is given for three different styles to create a traditional fitted beret shape, a slouchy snood like shape, or a regular style somewhere in between the other two and similar to a traditional tam. Materials: 155, 195, 230 yards / 140, 180, 210 metres of worsted / heavy worsted / aran weight yarn. * 3.75mm set of 4 or 5 double pointed needles or needles required for your preferred method of working small circumferences in the round.

Stitch marker, a split ring marker is ideal as it can be easily re-positioned when the position of the beginning of the rnd is changed in order to maintain the pattern.

Tapestry needle Gauge:
18 sts and 26 rows in stocking st = 4” / 10cm
16 sts and 28 rows in 2x2 rib = 4” / 10cm (make sure that both stitch and row gauge are achieved with the rib stretched in the same way).
For the most accurate results swatch in the round. The ribbed band of the beret is very stretchy and should fit most women.
