Chunky Lace CAL - Q4 2021

Craft-A-Long Details:

• Pattern Choices: Your choice of any lace pattern.
• Yarn Choices: Your choice of any aran, chunky, or bulky weight ESK yarn
• CAL Dates: Oct. 1 - Dec. 25th

This is a multi-pattern craft-a-long that starts on October 1st, 2021 and runs through December 25th. Choose any lace pattern and any aran, chunky, or bulky weight yarn to participate! So often we think of lace as only being for the thinnest of yarns, but even the simplest lace pattern pops in a surprising way in heavier yarns. Using lace stitches for heavier yarns also increases the wearability of these great fibers.

For the purposes of this craft-a-long, your pattern can be written for any weight of yarn so long as you use one of the heavier weights of yarn for your project. You can also create your own pattern or modify an existing pattern any way you like so long as it fits the craft-a-long criteria.

This craft-a-long officially begins on the first of October. First, choose your pattern! Pick your yarn, maybe even get ambitious and do a swatch (while earning your Swatchbuckler badge!), and cast-on with your fellow ESKers in the Ravelry thread. When your project is done, head to your Progress Dashboard to submit your project and get your yardage and stars. Our goal is to have as many of you as possible finish your projects within the timeframe of the craft-a-long (truly crafting "along"), but we'll accept submissions for all 2021 craft-a-longs all the way up through December 25th to allow maximum participation.

Prizes: All 2021 CALs have six size options to allow everyone to play. You'll earn more yardage and stars the larger your project is. You can combine as many projects as you'd like - just wait to submit until all your projects for the CAL are done.

Requirements for ALL craft-a-longs:

• All yarn should come from Eat.Sleep.Knit except for minor embellishments
• All projects should start on or after the start date for the craft-a-long and be completed and submitted by December 25th, 2021
• All projects should use the patterns or themes specified by the individual craft-a-long requirements
• All projects completed within the craft-a-long calendar timeframe will be eligible for the Ravelry prize drawings for that craft-a-long.
