Gauge:
5 ½ stitches = 1 inch in stockinette stitch (unblocked)

A lovely beaded shawl, inspired by the tropics and designed during the chilly autumn months.

Plumeria is worked from the bottom point up, and requires about 40g of size 8 seed beads.

This scarf starts at the neck edge with simple garter stitch. Five other sections are then worked individually from isolated segments of the first section. Increases and decreases give this unique design its architectural wingspan.

In architecture, dancette is an ornamental molding that features a zigzag patterns. Here, the zigzag edging gives this shawl that extra something!

Long and shallow, the generous length of this shawlette makes it easy to tie in front or throw over your shoulder. Starting at the top, the body of the shawl is worked using simplified short rows and the lace edging to finish the piece is knitted on at the end.

Color and patterning of this shawl reminded me of a winter ocean with foamy raging waves on the surface. Poor weather and dark skies reflecting in the ocean add to the color and obscure grey lines of the horizon merging with the sky. Worked in modular technique, this shawl is a great travel project as elements are worked one at a time. Pick your colors and see them transition under your fingers.
